Kristen Jongen is an artist, writer and inspirational speaker who shares “Courageous Poetry and Art to Feed Your Soul” at Soul Soup, Inc., her company that features large-format original canvases, books, greeting cards and embellished prints. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Sommerset, Niche, Canadian Gift, Femail Creations, Signals and many other North American publications. Kristen has been invited twice to be the guest artist aboard the Disney Wonder, on International Bahamian cruises.
Kristen’s inspirational prose and poetry has a broad international following, and women of all ages collect her poetic collages. Additionally, her work has been used in a wide range of venues, including university courses, support groups, therapy and mental health centers across the nation. She is represented, internationally, by over 400 galleries and gift shops.
Her first self-published work, Growing Wings, has appeared in ForeWord Magazine’s short list of recommended gift books. It is currently on its third print. In support of her books, she has appeared on “Authors on Air,” “Courage Radio” and WSRT’s “Mary in the Morning.” In 2013 Kristen was nominated as one of the 40 most influential people in Northern Michigan under the age of 40.
